Obesity Canada (OC) supports widespread efforts to maintain social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have indefinitely cancelled all travel and in-person meetings for our staff and volunteers, and staff are being supported to work from home.
Uncertainty about when the outbreak may ease makes it difficult to assess our ability to put on conferences in the near to medium term. For the safety of our delegates and presenters we have postponed the 7th Canadian Obesity Student Meeting, for now.
We will assess other planned conferences, workshops and meetings over the coming weeks.
We salute our many co-creators and collaborators working on the front lines in Canada’s health systems. Let’s all do our best to flatten the curve and make the pandemic manageable for them.
