We did it!

The OC-Calgary Chapter completed our first fundraising race! The event was a great success with our local chapter raising over $1000! When it comes to raising awareness for individuals living with obesity every dollar counts, and the 2019 Scotiabank marathon was a great platform for us to support this cause. The weather was very cooperative and it brought out runners and walkers of all ages and sizes. The atmosphere was great with everyone coming together for a common goal. We had supporters complete a many different distances; however, our executive team decided to walk the 5 km leg of the race, this way we could take our time, interact with the other participants, and spread a greater awareness of our vision and mission at OC-Calgary. Our vision and mission mirrors other local OC chapters and our OC national body which is “To be Canada’s authoritative voice on evidence-based approaches for obesity prevention, treatment and policy and to improve the lives of Canadians affected by obesity through the advancement of anti-discrimination, prevention and treatment efforts.

We want to thank everyone who donated and supported us!
