Obesity Canada’s local Ottawa Gaineau chapter held an event on May 31, 2019 at the LEAF Weight Management Clinic.

Dr. Jo-Anne Gilbert was the invited keynote speaker for this evening event.

Dr. Jo-Anne Gilbert has a PhD in kinesiology. She specializes in body weight management. In addition to working at the University of Montreal, she founded Imparfait et en sante where she helps people who are concerned about improving their overall health to find a personalized and enjoyable solution to manage their wight in the long term, without guilt or judgement. She is also the co-chair of the Montreal Local Chapter.

During this presentation Dr. Gilbert presented an interactive session with health care professionals on “Should we recommend patients to target the healthy weight category?”.

There was great sharing among clinicians of practical strategies on how we can help people living with obesity. This was also a great networking event with community based clinicians who have a high interest in bariatric medicine. And every attendee got to take home an Obesity Canada goodie bag! (all healthy items…)

Thank you to those individuals who made it out for this event!
