Project Title: The gut microbiome in children with PWS: a fiber intervention

Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is the most common syndromic form of childhood obesity. Aim: determine if a fiber intervention in children with PWS has significant effect on degree of hyperphagia and metabolic parameters. Objectives: Analyze changes in microbial composition and function by 16s rRNA sequencing and targeted metabolomics, changes in hyperphagia scores, gastrointestinal hormones (acylated-ghrelin, peptide-YY, insulin, GLP-1), serum metabolites, and inflammatory markers.

A Masters degree in health sciences or a related field will be considered an asset.
