February 27 & 28 2020

*NOTE: Due to circumstances beyond our control, the upcoming Learning Retreat on the Principles and Practice of Interdisciplinary Obesity Management scheduled for October 10 &11, 2019 in Toronto has had a date adjustment and will be held in the new year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause however the change allows the programming committee to integrate and disseminate the highly anticipated release of the Adult Obesity Management Clinical Practice Guidelines.

More than 10 years after the release of the first Canadian obesity guidelines, there remains a gap in access to obesity care in Canada. Obesity has not received official recognition as a chronic disease by the federal government or any of the provincial/territorial governments, despite the Canadian Medical Association and the World Health Organization’s declarations. The implementation of the upcoming evidence-based guidelines developed by Obesity Canada and the Canadian Association of Bariatric Physicians and Surgeons will change how interdisciplinary clinical specialists (such as registered dietitians) practice.

Revised programme date: Thursday February 27 & Friday February 28th, 2020
Location remains at the Royal Canadian Military Institute.
