A call for abstract submissions is open for the Canadian Obesity Student Meeting.

Obesity Canada in partnership with York University and the University of Alberta will convene the 7th Canadian Obesity Student Meeting on June 17-19, 2020 in Toronto, ON. COSM 2020 is the only national  academic conference where research trainees and new professionals (a new professional is defined as within 5 years of graduating from highest degree) in the broad field of obesity can share their work and contribute to finding solutions for the prevention and management of obesity in Canada. The purpose of this initiative is to support the next generation of researchers and health professionals in disseminating their research and practice efforts.

Specific objectives include:

  1. provide obesity students and new professionals a unique opportunity to translate their research results across disciplines and health research themes;
  2. facilitate interaction and collaboration between students and new professionals working in a variety of obesity areas and develop a sense of community amongst the next generation of obesity researchers; and
  3. provide networking opportunities and expose trainees to obesity research employment opportunities that exist in various sectors (private and public, non-profit, and academia).

The conference will bring together hundreds of students and new professionals and obesity stakeholders representing academia, industry, government and non-profit organizations
