Topic

Infographics should highlight a topic that is in line with Obesity Canada’s vision and mission.

What is an infographic?

An infographic is a visual way to display data or information that makes it easy to understand at a glance. It can take the form of a chart, diagram, or illustration, and usually involves minimal text.

Eligibility

This competition is open to all Students and New Professionals (within 5 years of graduating) with one catch: You must be an OC member to enter. Not a member? It’s free and easy to join!

Judges

Initial judging will be done by the OC SNP Executive and then put to a vote by the people of the internet. Find the bios for all the OC SNP Executives here!

Judging criteria

Judges will grade submissions based on:

Design: visual appeal 1     2 3     4 5
Quality of content: accuracy and validity of data/information presented  1     2 3     4 5
Knowledge transfer potential: presentation of complex topics in a easy to understand format 1     2 3     4 5
Originality: content presented in an innovative format 1     2 3     4 5
Potential to generate discussion: catchy #hashtag (e.g. #OCInfographic) 1     2 3     4 5

Format

Submission format – this is up to you! We prefer PNG or JPEG but remember, visual design is part of the judging criteria so put those design skills to use! We want something we can share with the world. Or at least those in the OC network. For sizing, try and make possible to share on social – long, skinny ratios don’t work too well.

Submissions

Submissions should be emailed to con.snp@gmail.com by November 30  by 11:59pm ET. The SNP Executive will select the semi-finalists and public voting through social media will begin at the end of November. Winners will be announced at the beginning of December 2019.

Prizes

The first place winner will receive one free registration for the Canadian Obesity Student Meeting in Toronto, ON on June 17-19 2020. There will be prizes for second and third place finalists. All semi-finalists will be featured at the OC Summit.
