Ian Patton is the Public Engagement Coordinator with Obesity Canada. Through Obesity Canada Ian has been active in educating health care professionals, advocating for access to care and the elimination of weight bias. Ian is also very active in public outreach, connecting with individuals living with obesity. Ian has a PhD in Kinesiology from Western University focusing on physical activity and obesity and also completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto on the use of Body Mass Index in children. Ian has lived with obesity his entire life and has struggled with his weight. As a bariatric surgery patient, Ian has become passionate about sharing his story and improving the lives of Canadians living with obesity.
