Summary of position:
Under the direct supervision of Drs Lavoie and Bacon, and in collaboration with the members of the Chronic
Disease Axis, the selected candidate will be in charge of coordinating the research activities surrounding the
REBORN research program (REsearch on Bariatric Care for Obesity) which consists in the development of a
longitudinal cohort of patients in bariatric surgery, as well as all the related sub-studies.
Functions:
 Coordinate and supervise data collection and management (interviews, questionnaires, medical data)
 Recruit patients for various research projects in progress
 Review medical charts to determine eligibility
 Keep track of questionnaire modifications
 Collaborate with our data management expert to oversee bariatric databases (through the REDCap program)
 Participate in data entry
 Collaborate with all the researchers, doctors, nurses and assistants involved in the multiple projects related to
bariatric surgery in order to facilitate the process
 Prepare and facilitate meetings with various collaborators (researchers, patients, etc.) to report on the
program’s progress
The candidate will need to demonstrate:
 An excellent sense of organization
 Dynamism and autonomy / ability to take initiative
 Good communication skills (oral and written)
 Versatility and ability to work in a team
Minimum Required Qualifications:
 Diploma (BA / BSc or above) in Psychology, Nursing, Kinesiology, or related field
 Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written)
 Ability to use Word and Excel
 Skills with web interfaces (data entry via electronic tablets)
 Experience with REDCap and ACCESS would be an asset
