Each month, we connect you with some of Canada’s top experts  leading the way obesity research, treatment and prevention.

Submit your questions to Dr. Jennifer Kuk, a kinesiologist specializing in exercise, activity, health and lifestyle behaviors. Selected questions will be answered in next month’s Conduit newsletter, and in this space. Questions can be sent to: patton@obesitynetwork.ca

Dr. Kuk is an Associate Professor in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science at York University. She obtained her BScHons from the University of Western Ontario, and her MSc and PhD from Queen’s University with Dr. Robert Ross. She has published over 100 scientific papers, reports and chapters related to obesity, health and lifestyle behaviors.

Currently, her laboratory is investigating the relationship between obesity and health through clinical human studies and epidemiological approaches. In particular, she is interested in the characterization of the metabolically normal obesity phenotype and is currently working on factors that identify successful weight management in adult and pediatric patient populations. This work will help to clarify the most optimal weight management strategies for maintaining and improving health.
