As I am sure you are all aware, Today March 4th is World Obesity Day.  This is the first time that all of the global patient and professional obesity organizations are united on the same day to spread messages about changing the narrative about obesity and reducing weight bias and stigma.  Perhaps the most important thing happening today is the official launch of the Global Obesity Patient Alliance (GOPA). One of the most impactful tools in reducing bias and stigma is lived experience and patient advocates creating a grassroots movement.  “Nothing about us without us”

GOPA is a coalition of patient organizations from around the world that will work to empower and inspire other patients and patient organizations to make positive change. Together we can make a difference!  Check out GOPA at www.GOPA.org/worldobesityday and come join Obesity Canada in improving the lives of Canadian’s living with obesity.
