Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Education, the Research Coordinator will support Obesity Canada’s research activities. This role involves contributing to the development of data collection, analysis, and reporting methods. Additionally, the Research Coordinator will assist in the development of the National Obesity Care Framework and support various research initiatives within new and existing projects and proposals. The Research Coordinator will be responsible for projects such as developing report cards, supporting national and international research projects, and supporting the Research Action Team. 

Responsibilities:

Providing support for research activities through the identification, data collection, and reporting. You will compile research, reports and regulatory documents as required by the protocol, and study. You will be responsible for ensuring research information is collected in a timely manner, accurate, valid, meaningful, and to the complete satisfaction of stakeholders involved. 

You will play a pivotal role in fostering collaborative partnerships, developing and distributing reports, and assisting in the creation of recruitment materials. Additionally, you will organize and support meetings by preparing slides and documents, manage data collection, and provide preliminary reports for stakeholders. Conducting comprehensive literature searches and reviews to support research projects will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will be tasked with providing regular progress reports using management tools, coordinating and managing data activities including collection, entry, and verification, and writing, editing, and delivering impact and outcome reports. You will also be expected to perform any other related duties as required, contributing to the overall success of our research initiatives.

Qualifications:

– Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in a health-related field (preferred).

– Experience in developing and conducting community-based research and evaluation.

– Past experience in research, literature reviews, and academic writing.

– Excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex material clearly for various audiences.

– Strong project management and organizational skills.

– Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.

– Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.

– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

– Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
