Blog post written by Nicole Pearce, Director of Education at Obesity Canada.

This past weekend marked a significant milestone at Obesity Canada, as we celebrated the largest group of professionals to date achieving their Certified Bariatric Educator (CBE) designation. It is with immense pride that we congratulate all the new CBEs who have successfully passed the examination, demonstrating their dedication and expertise in the field of obesity management.

The CBE certification is designed to equip health care professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide evidence-informed obesity care. This certification underscores our commitment to ensuring that clinicians are well-prepared to meet the needs of individuals living with obesity with the utmost compassion and competence.

The increase in participants this year not only reflects the growing recognition of obesity as a chronic disease but also highlights the expanding commitment among health care professionals to enhance their understanding and skills in this critical area of health care.

As these newly certified educators integrate their advanced training into their practices, they are set to make a substantial impact on health outcomes. Their expertise is essential in fostering a better understanding of obesity management, advocating for patient-centered approaches, and ultimately, enhancing the quality of life for individuals living with obesity.

Congratulations once again to all our new Certified Bariatric Educators!

We are proud to have you as a part of our community!
